Partly Facetious: MQM has only two arguments to defend itself?
"Things are coming to a head for the MQM."
"Well, the party has defended itself by presenting two arguments. First, the party reminds the public of previous allegations of treachery linked to links with the Indian RAW levelled against it that were later acknowledged to be false and second that the party leadership follows the party's legal team's recommendations with respect to filing defamation cases in British courts, or indeed in other matters."
"I recall Asif Ali Zardari pleading ill health as an excuse for not attending court summons and that allowed the cases to be delayed for years if not a decade and..." "Where does he come in! And please leave the former President alone...he has suffered considerably for that speech and I am sure he has tendered his apology multiple times to the right quarters and his departure maybe an indication that the apology was perhaps not accepted..."
"Oh stop with your conspiracy theories! The point I wanted to make by referring to the cases of the former President was simply that sometimes lawyers make those they are defending to say things that have a high political cost. I mean poor Mr Zardari was constantly reminded of the plea his lawyer made him take that he is mentally scarred by his incarceration remember!"
"Ah yes, but where does the MQM..."
"Perjury may be preferable as it has a lower sentence than say money laundering."
"Oh my God, are you saying what I think you are saying?"
"Well, its worth considering right."
"I guess but what about allegations of money laundering, murder, extortion and..."
"Well, look at the glass as half full."
"I am sorry I don't know how the glass can be half full."
"There are no charges of corruption - MQM has never been implicated in corruption and corruption is defined as mega scams of the likes of rental power projects, LNG..."
"Extortion is not corruption?"
"No because extortion is from the private sector...see corruption implies the state."
"You are being facetious...but does corruption trump murder?"
"Yes it does because while we, as a nation, do manage to put away some murderers we are kind of unable to put away any one for corruption."
"Don't be facetious."
